Do you have a favourite season? Summer has always been mine, but autumn is a very close second. This autumn has been full of fun experiences, book promotions, and fitness exploits! The time has flown by, as often happens when you’re busy and having fun! I thought I’d give you a brief rundown of what’s been happening in my life, as well as a preview of what’s to come in November, because it looks like it will be getting even busier!!!

Fall Recap

If you follow my social media at all, you know that I kicked off the autumn season as a vendor at ThunderCon 2022! This event is always a blast… but was canceled for the past two years due to Covid-19. Well, not this year! ThunderCon came back with a vengeance, and I was so excited to be a vendor once more. The costumes were phenomenal as always (I was Hela and Freddy Krueger), the shoppers eager to support local, and the celebrity panel absolutely amazing! My cheeks hurt once the weekend was over, just from smiling so much! Best part, I sold so many books from my Father of Contention series, that I almost didn’t have enough for my next event, which was a book signing at Indigo Thunder Bay! I truly appreciate Indigo hosting another book signing for me! It was wonderful to meet up with fans of my stories, and to create new fans as people picked up copies of my series for the first time. So much support from this town… my heart was full to bursting.

On the fitness front, I started a new boot camp, Mindset Reset: Fall Into Fitness Ballerina-style! This amazing boot camp focuses on self-care and fitness, so it covers both the physical and mental side of health. Feeling a tad burnt out, this boot camp came at the perfect time, and I already feel myself filling back up with energy, motivation, and peace of mind. The fitness aspect includes Pilates, cardio, and ballet barre moves, which is a bit new for me, but challenging in all the right ways. It’s pushing me out of my comfort zone, and boy do I feel the burn! Event though it has only been a little over a week, I’m already feeling the benefits!

Winter Goals

Moving into the winter months, there is a LOT planned. I don’t want this momentum to slow down, so I’m going forward, full speed ahead!

First off, my boot camp will continue to run through November! I absolutely love the group of women who have joined me on this wellness journey, and I know that we will continue to crush it. It’s so much easier to do something challenging when it’s with a group of supportive friends!

I have also decided to participate in NaNoWriMo 2022! This contest runs during the month of November, where participants vow to write 50,000 words throughout the month. This is no easy feat, let me tell you. I know, because I have done this several times in the past, and have several published books as a result of it. This year is extra thrilling because I will be putting my Father of Contention series and all spin-off books on the back burner to focus on a new book… a dark fairytale with castles, and magic, and witches… oh my! I can’t wait to get started! I have a whole new cast of characters eager to come to life!

Not that I have forgotten about my past book babies. November also has me seeking representation for my current WIP, Code of Reanimation, a paranormal horror story that is fully completed and waiting for an agent to take notice. I will begin the query process shortly, jumping into the trenches with all the other authors there! This is not an easy process, and the competition is thick, so wish me luck! I will most definitely need it!

As Halloween season slowly comes to a climax, we have Christmas on the near horizon. I’m excited to announce that I will be a vendor at not one, but two events this year! The first one, Geekfestivus, is scheduled for November 12th, 10am – 4pm! This super fun event is put on by ThunderCon which means… you guessed it… I get to dress up again! I still haven’t decided on a costume, but planning is one of the best parts. Stay tuned for more information… I will post it in the Events section of my website and on all my social media channels. The second Christmas pop-up market I’ll be participating in is the Christmas Craft Revival! This huge event takes over most of the venues in downtown Thunder Bay, and allows us artisans to sell our wares! The shopping is fantastic, so if you’re looking for that perfectly unique gift, and live in the area, come join us! There will be fun festivities, like live painting, performers and musicians, sleigh rides, pop-up cafes, and more!!! So save the date: November 27th, from 10am – 4pm!

Well, that about wraps it up! Enjoy the rest of your autumn, and don’t forget to keep reading!
