Fall is the busiest season in my opinion, with children heading back to school, extracurricular activities kicking into full gear, as is my full time job as my son’s chauffeur, and my personal training business exploding as people strive to get back into an exercise routine. It’s only during the “in-between” times where I get to work on my writing, currently centering around editing book two of the Father of Contention series, while simultaneously marketing book one in the series. It can be a bit of a juggling act, me the inexperienced clown that’s dropping half the balls. I’m not gonna lie, my house hasn’t been cleaned in eons and Kraft Dinner is a regular dinner staple as of late.

But, the great news is that progress is being made. My book, Father of Contention, is now available for sale at our local Chapter’s bookstore, located at 797 Memorial Avenue in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and I have two exciting events planned for October.

The first event on my schedule is a book signing, again at our local Chapters bookstore in Thunder Bay, Ontario on October 20, 2018 from 1-4 pm. Come by, grab a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks and pick up a copy of my book to keep you entertained during the cool autumn nights. And, don’t forget…Christmas is just around the corner and a signed copy of Father of Contention would make the perfect gift for the book lover in your family.

The second event I have planned is one I am so thrilled to announce. I will have a table in the annual ThunderCon convention on October 27-28, 2018 at the Valhalla Inn, located on 1 Valhalla Inn Road, Thunder Bay, Ontario. The festivities run from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm on the 27th, and from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on the 28th, and with over 4300 people in attendance last year, this year is promising to be bustling with patrons yearning to “get their geek on.” ThunderCon is our Thunder Bay version of Comic-Con, where you get to dress up as your favourite cosplay character, play both board games and video games, and shop for all things science fiction and fantasy, comics, gaming, horror and pop culture. The costumes last year were awe-inspiring with a live R2-D2 zipping around, performing belly dancers, more Klingons than I could count, and several of the disturbing characters from the Silent Hill video game, which were my favourite. Falling right before Hallowe’en, it will give you another excuse to wear your costume, or help generate some ideas if you are still unsure of what you want to be. Check out www.thundercon.org for more information on the event.

I’m still trying to figure out what costume I’m going to wear, but I guarantee I WILL be wearing one and it will be geeky chic, for sure. Check out my upcoming posts and my Instagram page for photos from the event. But, better yet, come and join in on the fun…and most importantly, don’t forget to dress up!

So, now I’ve helped make your schedules busier, since you will be “saving the date” for both of my upcoming events: my book signing at Chapters and ThunderCon. Together, let’s make some memories for the autumn of 2018!
